MASSive Double Header Weekend On Tap for Petty Raceway Saturday and Sunday

Auto World Maritime Allstar Sportsman Series and East Coast International Pro Stock Tour headline Saturday, MetalCore and D.R. Scrap Metals Day of Destruction on Sunday

(RIVER GLADE, NB – August 25th, 2022) – Petty International Raceway will be the place to be for motorsport excitement this weekend as stock car and demolition will take to the track over two days at the River Glade, New Brunswick oval. The Saturday, August 27th card is anchored by the two top Late Model Tours in the region – the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour with the Cummins 150 and the Auto World Maritime Allstar Sportsman Series with the Morse Industrial 100 presented by C.B. Warren’s Auto Care. The Leisure Days RV Bandoleros and Four Cylinders play support on Saturday with the green flag for qualifying at 4pm. The Sunday MetalCore and D.R. Scrap Metals Day of Destruction, which is headlined by a 75-lap, $1,000 to win Enduro race and a $1,000 to win Demolition Derby, gets underway at 2pm.

The Auto World Maritime Allstar Sportsman Series will make a stop at Petty International Raceway on Saturday. The Morse Industrial 100 presented by C.B. Warren’s Auto Care is a makeup race for an event lost due to rain in July in Shediac, New Brunswick. With the race serving as the penultimate race of the season, major championship implications will play a role in Saturday’s 100-lap show. The race is also the first and only scheduled in 2022 for the new Tour outside the Province of Nova Scotia.

Brady Creamer (Miramichi, NB) enters as the championship point leader by just seven points over Colby Smith (East Point, NS). Deven Smith (Lakeside, NS) is third, nine points out of second place. Chris Reid (Sydney, NS), the winner of the last two Auto World Maritime Allstar Sportsman Series races, is fourth and could play a factor in the championship if his momentum ride continues through Saturday’s Morse Industrial 100 presented by C.B. Warren’s Auto Care. Eighteen drivers have been confirmed to compete on Saturday.

The Leisure Days RV Bandoleros will warm up the track for the Late Model divisions on Saturday night. In the Beginner division, it has been the story of Mandi Lee and Hudson Ruff. The two up and coming stars with influences from two top Pro Stock drivers in the Province are sure to be battling down to the end of the season for a championship in their first season. Lee and Ruff are tied for the championship lead in the Beginner Bandolero class. In the more experienced Outlaw division, Chase MacKay has a slim five point advantage on Ayden Christensen as the Leisure Days RV Bandoleros enter the second half of 2022.

The previously scheduled Passione Flooring East Coast Mini Stock Tour event has been canceled. In its place is a 25-lap Mister Transmission Mini Stock event. This race is a non-point event and will be governed by Petty International Raceway rules.

Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) leads Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) and the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour field into their ninth race of the season and final appearance for 2022 at Petty International Raceway. SUNDAY – METALCORE AND D.R. SCRAP METALS DAY OF DESTRUCTION

Scheduled to run two weekends ago but postponed due to rain, the MetalCore and D.R. Scrap Metals Night of Destruction moves to Sunday to become the Day of Destruction. The motorsports action will begin at 2pm and feature a 75-lap Endurance Race and an all-out Demolition Derby finale with each event paying $1,000 to win. As if those full throttle events were not enough, there will be a burnout competition that always thrills motorsports enthusiasts young and old. Kids Rides with the NEW Monster Bus will also take place throughout the evening. Anticipation continues to grow between fans and competitors alike for this popular event.

The Kings County Performance Women on Wheels will also be in attendance to compete in twin features. Gail Thebeau has won both races so far this season and will look to continue her streak this weekend. Paula Evans and Ashley Campbell complete the top three in the standings after a pair of races in 2022.

Grandstand admission prices for Sunday’s event are $20 for adults and $10 for youth aged six to 18 with children aged five and under admitted for free. Pit admission is $25 and is restricted to those 16 years of age and older.

New in 2022, all those entering the pit gates must complete their insurance waiver online prior to heading to the track. This waiver can be completed by going to PIRL.speedwaiver.com. Camping is available on a first come, first serve basis.
