(RIVER GLADE, NB – June 1st, 2022) – Petty International Raceway is set to host their second event of the 2022 season. The five division card is headlined by the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour’s Cummins 150. The five track, five event Maritime Street Stock Series will kick off Saturday evening with the Old Fashion Meat Market 100 paying $4,000 to win. The Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends Tour will contest their second race of 2022 with the C.A.R.S. Automotive 50 and the house division Leisure Days RV Bandoleros and Beginner Bandoleros will round out the card. Racing begins at 4pm on Saturday, June 4th at the River Glade, New Brunswick bullring.

The Maritime Street Stock Series gets its start Saturday at Petty International Raceway. The five race Series is comprised of 100-lap races, one at each race track that hosts Street Stock racing in the Maritimes. In addition to race purses, the top five overall in the five events will get their share of a Series payout worth $3,750 with the champion receiving a custom built trophy and $1,000.

Michael Cormier (Grand-Barachois, NB) is the reigning Maritime Street Stock Series champion. Cormier won a pair of events on the Maritime Street Stock Series in 2021 but fell short of winning the Petty Raceway leg in the Series last year to Brad MacLean (Black River, NB). While the pair of racers will be favorites heading into Saturday’s show, they will be challenged by the best Street Stock drivers from across the region over 100-laps.

A trio of Street Stock races have been held in New Brunswick so far this season. Cormier’s car won a pair of races last weekend at Speedway 660 with Curtis Collins (Barnesville, NB) at the helm. While the No. 68 was strong the week prior, Petty Raceway’s Season Opener saw Kenny MacKenzie Jr (Salisbury, NB) drive his No. 85 entry into victory lane over Rob Raynes (Saint John, NB) and Brayden Tingley (Turtle Creek, NB). The competition is always stout when it comes to the Street Stock class but when you add extra laps and the prestige of the Maritime Street Stock Series, the Old Fashion Meat Market 100 will be an event you will not want to miss.

The Leisure Days RV Bandolero and Beginner Bandolero divisions will contest their second race on their 2022 season on Saturday. Ayden Christensen (Windsor Junction, NS) leads the Bandolero division for those drivers more experienced than their Beginner counterparts. Chase MacKay (Bear Cove, NS) and Caden Tufts (Halifax, NS) find themselves tied for second in the standings after one event. MacKay and Christensen have been trading feature wins back and forth throughout the region and will look to fend off the rest of their peers and, in turn, keep the point battle between themselves.

The Beginner Bandolero division began the season with four entries. Third generation driver Mandi Lee (Fredericton, NB) took home a victory in her first race at the wheel of a Bandolero and will look to continue to keep up that momentum on Saturday afternoon as the undercard to a major Pro Stock show.

The East Coast International Pro Stock Tour and Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends Tour will each contest their second events of 2022. Race previews for the Cummins 150 and C.A.R.S. Automotive 50 will be released by their respective touring series.

Grandstand admission prices for Saturday’s event are $30 for adults and $10 for youth aged eight to 18 with children aged seven and under admitted for free. Pit admission is $35 and is restricted to those 16 years of age and older. New in 2022, all those entering the pit gates must complete their insurance waiver online prior to heading to the track. This waiver can be completed by going to PIRL.speedwaiver.com. Pit gates open at 10:30am, grandstand gates open for spectators at 2pm with qualifying getting underway at 4pm. Camping is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Tim’s Corner Motorsports TV will have a video crew at Petty to provide full event coverage. You can watch the race LIVE or On-Demand by heading to www.TimsCorner.tv and getting your Event Pass.
